Mother-in-law Problem

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

I owe you guys and inmense aplogy.

As it turns out, we won’t be able to update the page this Thursday. The artist, Aidalia, went on vacation. We had planned for her trip to last until Friday, but some inconveniences have prolonged it, making it last the whole weekend.

For those of you who don’t know, the artist is actually my girlfriend. And the reason she’s delaying her return is because of her mother.

In any case. We spent today’s evening talking on the phone. I updated her on the script, and she’ll be drawing during her absence in order to return to our normal schedule in Monday.

I appreciate your tolerance and patience.

The Foundation of Democracy

Monday, August 11th, 2008

To all our readers.

If you haven’t noticed, you’ll see three new buttons in the lower right corner of this site’s side bar. One of them is to support us economically. The other two are to help us morally.

The PayPal button allows you to donate money, should you wish to do so. This would help us improve our studios, giving you a wider selection of products and services in a near future. Our goal is to ultimately eliminate this button definitely, using merchandise to gain income.

The other two buttons don’t imply money at all. What you do with those buttons is improve the ranking of our Drawn Strip at TopWebComics.com, and Buzzcomix. You vote for our comic, and in exchange you let us know how much you really enjoy it. You can vote for it once per day.

We appreciate your support, and hope you enjoy our actual piece of fiction and future projects of FABLE Story Studios.

Dig and Delight

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

It was a few days ago that I told you that you could now vote and donate money to support us. I thank everyone who did any one of these.

And now, not only can you vote and donate, but you can Digg us, and  make us qualify as Delicious with the aid of two new buttons.

Both Delicious and Digg are social bookmark applications. If you digg us, or add us to your Delicious bookmarks,  all your other registered friends will find out about us!

Now, don’t feel overhelmed. You don’t have to do any of these if you don’t want to. All these applications are but one way to tell other people about us. If you wish, you can use the oldest and most reliable way to tell anyone about us: Say it to their faces! And slap them until they read our Drawn Strip.

Thank you very much again.

Mondays and Thursdays

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Ok, there is something very important I forgot to mention to our dear readers. It will soon be integrated to the title of our site, so that no more confusions arise.

We update the Drawn Strip Mondays and Thursdays every week.

Also, keep supporting us with your votes. Everyone here at FABLE is very thankful for those of you you have kept voting for our Drawn Strip. Please don’t stop! As soon as we’re able to, we will add many, many things to our site, and offer many others to our readers.

Remeber to Vote

Monday, August 18th, 2008

I am glad to announce that yesterday we experienced an increasing in the amount of people that visited our site. They stayed only for a short while, yes, but it feels like a step forward nonetheless.

I just want you all to remember to vote for us at buzzcomix.net and topwebcomics.com. You can do so using the convinient buttons we’ve added at the bottom of the right-hand side bar. This is absolutely free, and it takes less than a minute.

If you wish to, you can also donate money to support FABLE Story Studios. This can be done using yet another convenient button, located right next to the other two.

Also, please feel free to leave your comments. They will do one of two things: They can either frustrate us, or help us improve.

Thank you for reading our Drawn Strip, and supporting us!

Do you speak Spanish? (¿Hablas Español?)

ENGLISH

Some of you may not know this, but we’re working on a spanish version of The Light and Darkness of One’s Heart (La Luz y Oscuridad de un Corazon). I myself don’t know very well how our site will work after implementing it, but I trust the person in charge of that completely.

Now, I want you to know that this will not be low-quality spanish. FABLE Story Studios is made up, right now, of an all mexcian staff. This guarantees that the Drawn Strip not only makes sense, but also that the spanish is proper and coherent.

Basically, this means you will have the option of reading this Drawn Strip either in english, or in spanish. The choice is yours.

(The text below reads exaclty as this one, but in spanish).

Thank you.

The Most Valuabe

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Yesterday, we went through the first day of our advertising with buzzcomix. It worked better than I’d thought.

For this whole week, I’d like to ask for a favor from all of the visitors. Please, leave your comments. I can look at the statistics of our site, analyze the number of people that visited, know where they’re from and so on. But what Google Analytics can’t tell me, is what you think, and whether you like what you read here or not.

That is the most valuable piece of information I could ever acquire.

Also, remember to vote for us at Topwebcomics.com and Buzzcomix.net. You can use the buttons we’ve set up for you at the bottom of the right-hand side bar.

Thank you.

Your heart must always tell you what to do.

Your mind must always tell you how to.

Incentives

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Starting next week, and every week after that, we’ll be offering vote incentives for you, our readers, to enjoy. The incentives do fall under the category of drawings, but they’re not just any drawings.

They’re side stories.

Remember how, in the story, Dane hears Katherine scream, and we fast forwarded to the next morning when the policemen are inspecting the scene? Did you ever wonder how Dane acquired that dagger he had in the end of Chapter 1? Well, guess what?

Panel per panel, we’ll be depicting what happened the night Katherine was murdered. Every week, we’ll be releasing a single black and white panel.

These panels will be of a better quality than that of the Drawn Strip. They’ll be drawn without sparing a single detail. The dialogue will not take the form of balloons, but will instead be written on the bottom of the panel, simulating subtitles. This way, the text will not interfere with the art.

Depending on the results, we’ll see whether to make this side story our first printed merchandise product. If this is the case, we’ll color the drawings. Each panel we’ll take up the space of an entire letter sized page. As of now, there are two tentative formats that draw our attention: Booklet, and scroll poster.

If you have any thoughts that you deem helpful, we’re always glad to read them.

Your heart must always tell you what to do.

Your mind must always tell you how to do it.

We’re Moving

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Though we’re not moving physically, we are changing our server and domain.

The new URL will be www.fable-ss.com. The change will take place the next week, between September 15 and 19.

Unfortunately, there will be no Draw Strip updates for this week. I apologize profoundly and hope that you understand this. Even if we did update it, you wouldn’t be able to read it. We don’t know how long the transfer will take, but I can assure you it won’t take more than two days. As soon as the server is up and running, however, you’ll get to read both of this week’s updates, I promise.

Thank you.

Back to Normal

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

It is a pleasure for me to announce that tomorrow, things go back to normal. The new server is up, the updating schedule will be resumed.

We will also be adding some new features. We’ll include some space for advertisement, and both the Web Developer; Omar, and the writer; Jean Paul (me), will be getting their own personal blogs. I’m not sure if we’ll include access to these blogs from Fable’s main page, but if we do, I’ll let you know. Otherwise, I’ll post the URLs later on.

Thank you for your patience. And I’m really sorry you guys had to wait a whole week to find out what happens next in the story. I promise not to disappoint you.

Your heart must always tell you what to do.
Your mind must always tell you how to do it.
