The Cast
Dane Luxembré/Marc Derring
Dane is the protagonist of our tale. Our story begins the night of his wife’s murder. He sets out immediately seeking revenge from the person that took away the ray of light illuminating the dark world around him.
Dane has recently published a book. It became a success in no time at all. He earned a lot of money with it, and was planning his future with Katherine before that tragic night.
Katherine Luxembré
Katherine was Dane’s wife. She was murdered in the beginning of the story. Not much is known about her. It seems, however, that she loved Dane incredibly. The mere presence of her husband was enough to make her smile widely, and make her forget everything else.
It’s rumored that the heroine in Dane’s book was inspired in his wife.
Ana Dawn
Bold, headstrong, intelligent, graceful, romantic and capable. Ana wants nothing more than to please her father and take the place of the son Lucian always wanted. That’s why she’s so determined to surpass any and all men in all the activities she can.
Recently, Ana discovered a longing to write a novel. It came to her after reading a book authored by a new and talented writer.
Lucian Dawn
Lucian is Ana’s father. He’s incredibly intelligent and perceptive. He’s inherited his family’s money and lives quite comfortably with his daughter in his mansion. Some people consider him eccentric, and they claim his curiosity will be his downfall. No one realizes the reach of his foresight, however.
Lucian has long wanted to conduct a research regarding human nature. It seems destiny has granted him the perfect chance…
Lar Haleway
Lar comes from a long and ancient family line that has always managed to hold its place in nobility. His father died, and Lar inherited the family business. Everything went along fine in the beginning, but Lar’s lack of management skills has made the business stop growing. Ruin is waiting for Lar at the next turn…
Lar won’t let this just happen, though. Of course not! He has a plan to keep his fortune growing and his family provided.
Cynthia Haleway
Lar Haleway’s wife. She’s much younger than Lar, and not quite happy with her arranged marriage. She bears it, though, as money has never been lacking in her life. It’s only inconvinient that she had to be married to an older, obnoxious man to keep money in her life.
Ah! But there are plenty of men, Cynthia thinks, and a married status is only to comply to society’s conventions.
Jeanne Haleway
Unfortunately for Cynthia, and amazingly for Lar, their union produced a beautiful girl whom they named Jeanne. Over protected by her father, and mostly despised by her mother, little Jeanne seems unaffected by all this, and reamins as kind and innocent as only a child could.
